What do I need?
An iPhone with iOS 17 or later, a Mac with macOS 14 or later, and both on the same Wi-Fi network. Install the free Handpilot app on both.
My iPhone doesn’t find my Mac
Check that Handpilot is running on the Mac (its icon is in the menu bar) and that both devices are on the same network. Guest networks and some company networks keep devices from seeing each other. On the iPhone, Local Network access must be on: Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Handpilot. If the Mac’s firewall asks, allow incoming connections for Handpilot.
The pointer doesn’t move
Allow Accessibility on the Mac: click the Handpilot menu bar icon, choose “Settings…” and open System Settings from the Permissions section. If Handpilot is already allowed there, turn it off and on again.
The Screen tab shows an error
Allow Screen Recording in Handpilot’s settings on the Mac. After allowing it, macOS may ask you to quit and reopen Handpilot.
Three-finger swipes don’t switch spaces
Make sure the Mission Control shortcuts are turned on: System Settings › Keyboard › Keyboard Shortcuts › Mission Control.
How do I remove an iPhone or a Mac?
On the Mac: Handpilot › Settings… › iPhones › Revoke. On the iPhone: in the list of Macs, swipe on the Mac and tap Forget.
